The Harvest is upon us. Chilly days and cozy nights make for fantastic reading times. Come curl up with a good book in front of the fireplace at the library.
The Director's pick for this month is ThePhysic Book of Deliverance Dane, by Katherine Howe.
A spellbinding, beautifully written novel that moves between contemporary times and one of the most fascinating and disturbing periods in American history – the Salem witch trials.
THE WINNERS OF THE BANNED BOOKS WEEK T-SHIRT GIVEAWAY WERE:
Joseph Mitchell and Rachel Estes, both of Roann.
Don't shy away from controversial books. Protect your right to read. Did you know that books like The Grapes of Wrath, To Kill a Mockingbird , and even the Bible have been banned at some time, somewhere? Banned Books Week is an annual, National Library event, drawing attention to the preservation of our first amendment rights.
OCTOBER is National Popcorn Popping Month and National Pretzle Month. Stop by the Library for a snack the week of October 19th.
"Experienced" Book Sale
The next used, ahem... we mean "experienced" book sale will take place in December. Check back for dates and times as they become available. Proceeds go toward new books and programming. The Library gladly takes donations of gently used books. Thank you!
